Advantages of the Battle of the Bulge
In this battle, the advantages went to Germany. Ardennes was an area not heavily guarded by Allied military, making it easy for Germany to attack. Also, Germany had taken U.S. uniforms and vehicles in order to infiltrate American lines. Hitler had attacked the weakest points in America's line. Germany's loss, however did become an advantage by boosting America's and the Allies' confidence in being able to win this war.
Disadvantages of the Battle of the Bulge
America had many disadvantages- Germany attacked on its weakest points and infiltrated lines by using American uniforms and vehicles. Both America and Germany had the disadvantage of having to fight in the freezing cold.
During the Battle of the Bulge, 20,876 Allied soldiers were killed, while another 42,893 were wounded and 23,554 captured/missing. German losses numbered 15,652 killed, 41,600 wounded, and 27,582 captured/missing. This makes it an extremly deadly attack, one that left the Allied soldiers with a large amount of deaths.
